What is MilitaryCalc
MilitaryCalc is a free set of tools that helps prospective enlistees, active-duty service members, and their families quickly and easily handle common Korean military calculations. Enter only your enlistment date and rank to instantly check your discharge date, promotion dates, pay by rank, and the maturity of the Soldier Tomorrow savings account.
Operating principles (E-E-A-T)
- Experience — results are broken down item by item based on real enlistment date, rank, and service length.
- Expertise — we compute using service lengths by branch (Army/Marines 18, Navy 20, Air Force 21 months), Korean military promotion rules, 2025 conscript pay, and the Soldier Tomorrow savings 1:1 government match.
- Authoritativeness — we cite the standards and sources of official bodies such as the MMA, the Ministry of National Defense, and partner banks.
- Trustworthiness — we publish formulas and assumptions openly and clearly flag any item that is an estimate. Your inputs are not collected or stored.
Data sources
The service lengths, pay, and savings figures used in each calculator are based on the following official sources. Figures can change as rules change, and we update to the latest values when they do.
- Military Manpower Administration (MMA) — conscription, service length, enlistment standards
- Ministry of National Defense — conscript pay, promotion, and service rules
- Partner banks — Soldier Tomorrow savings rates and preferential conditions
About accuracy
All MilitaryCalc results are reference estimates based on your inputs and openly published assumptions. In particular, discharge and promotion dates can change due to early discharge, service extension, or unit-wide promotions on the 1st of the month, and the Soldier Tomorrow savings maturity can change with the actual rate and the government match / interest support ratios. Always confirm final decisions with official bodies such as the MMA, the Ministry of National Defense, and your bank.
